JOB OPPORTUNITIES

What kind of work opportunities will be available to me after the course?
IH Madrid may be able to offer successful candidates employment immediately after the CELTA course. We are also in close contact with other schools who are looking for qualified teachers.

What kind of contracts do you offer?
A full-time contract is normally 25 hours per week contact teaching. However, due to peaks of work during the day we currently give out part-time contracts up to 21 hours a week. The rest of your time would be spent preparing and planning your classes. IH Madrid has a very extensive teacher resource library and a wealth of supplementary materials. We also offer part-time contracts to teachers who have other commitments.

What are the advantages of working with IH Madrid?
First and foremost, we are one of the largest and most respected language schools in Spain. All our teachers are provided with an ongoing teacher development programme. Full-time teachers will receive at least 30 hours teacher training per year. In addition to this training, we offer a range of adult and young learner courses free to all our teachers.

We have an excellent staff support network of senior teachers, coordinators and assistant directors of studies to help new and less experienced teachers with planning and administration.

Do I need to have working papers to be offered a contract?
Yes. Spanish law requires incoming workers to apply for a work permit. Providing you are legally allowed to work in Spain, we will help you with your application.
