Teaching Exam Classes IT Course Very Young Learners Experienced Teachers Individual Seminars
There is a great range of new courses available for teachers this term and all of them are FREE!
The IH Language Awareness Course designed for teachers who want to sharpen their language awareness and improve their confidence when teaching grammar in class. A certificate will be awarded for those participants who attend all of the sessions. Check availability with charris@ihmadrid.com if you have not already been offered a place.
The IH Madrid Young Learner Certificate course - Friday group
This course is offered to all IH teachers on Friday mornings from 09:30 - 12:00 in Nuevos Ministerios
It runs over nine days and provides teachers with a range of practical workshops and seminars on all aspects of teaching English to children. Teachers who complete the course are entitled to the Young Learner bonus if they teach four or more hours of young learner classes per week. The course (normally 475 Euros) is offered FREE to IH Madrid teachers. Check availability with charris@ihmadrid.com if you have not already been offered a place.
Teaching Teenagers. A brand new course focused specifically at teaching 13 - 17 year-olds. In this course, we look at the difficulties of teaching this (sometimes) difficult age group and examine ways to motivate teenagers to participate more in class and perform better in exams. Teaching Exam Classes. Part 1 of a mini-course which aims to provide teachers with a broader knowledge of the Cambridge Exams and how to furnish students with a range of strategies to perform better in all sections of the exam.
The IT Course. Steven and Oliver will be giving parallel sessions (one in AM and one in NM) to help teachers get more from technology and become more computer literate. This is a hands-on around-the-computer course with lots of practical ideas. Bring along a project you are working on or a list of things that you would like to be able to do in Word, PowerPoint, YouTube etc.
The IH VERY Young Learner course - Saturday group
A course developed by Cathy Harris and focuses specifically on teaching English to 3-6 year-olds. It runs over four Saturday mornings in January from 10:00 - 13:00 in Alonso Martínez. This course (normally 250 Euros) is FREE to IH Madrid teachers providing they see out their contract. Check availability with charris@ihmadrid.com if you have not already been offered a place.
The Reading Group continues from the first term and is for more experienced teachers. Pre-reading will be sent in advance of the seminar. Teachers are invited to take a turn in chairing this group. Contact Kate Pickering kpickering@ihmadrid.com if you are interested in running one of the sessions this term.
